I am aware that the admin team is attempting to fix the servers economy and I am aware that it is currently in a dire state, but resetting random peoples money is not a fair option. Some people, like myself have had their entire fortunes wiped away while others still have all of theirs. attempting to fix the economy by taking money from a select group of people does not work, all it does is make people annoyed that they have nothing while others have millions. I think this is an issue that needs to be addressed, either restore the money of those that have had it taken or balance out the money for everyone.

The other people earned their money back by selling things. Zach's right. I started selling things too.

People got a shit load of money because of their ridiculous iron grinders.

One of the Australian servers I go to regularly fixed that by significantly reducing the rate of mobs spawning. Additionally, mobs/animals in general will despawn if there are more than 50 within a 32 block radius of the player. That way, people can keep their grinders but it'll be less efficient; and it can help control large mob populations that likely lag the server out. It helped to control ways to earn money at alarming rates. They wanted to encourage a person-to-person economy, and while you could still sell items to the server you would be better off selling items to each other.

I don't see why iron grinders are ridiculous really. I mean they could cause lag but still. They can make the person who has them good money for business.

Um cause they make a crazy amount of money and it contributes to how all these players feel the need to try to make millions everyday when they do not need that much money at all. And what do you mean by good for business lol PS anyone know why NY has been down all day today?

My guess is Vycor hasn't been back yet to check. And yeah, making millions is quite excessive. I've learned my part in the old world

One thing I keep thinking would be a good idea is some sort of tax/deflation. The plugin we have lets you set it up so that each day players lose X% of their balances. So for example, if you have 10 million and are gonna lose 5% of it, you might think twice about whether its worthwhile to spend the time needed to earn that extra 500k. But on the other hand, if you have a modest balance (lets say 100k) you won't mind losing 5000 dollars because you can make it back fairly quick. Something like that would take away the incentive to sit on piles of money.

Those money issues have never been a problem for anyone. And there are also people who worked for their money (like I did). I also need a certain amount to keep Lord's and my cities (Newham and Metro) running and developing and I honestly don't see how preventing this could be fair. New York Minecraft has always been tending to be rather a creative than a survival server since i joined about 1 year ago and that's also why I like this server so much. I hope that our moderators still consider undoing this action.

Personally i still don't get why fixing the economy is such a big deal. I found that once i hit ten thousand dollars, money is not much of a problem so anything extra will probable wont be useful. The only reason i can think of people want to reset the economy is to try to get an advantage in the balance top section.
