Hi Guys I had an Idea to had Guilds on the server, actually there are some guilds but I want to make them more visible to players. I was thinking, with some other players and I had to the conclusion of adding some rules: 1 - Only the players with enough money to treat and keep the guilds can do them; 2 - They have to have a HQ or some building that people can visit, any kind, shape, size, color, etc...; 3 - have plots for new members to build and to make the guild grow; (optional) 4 - Have a name; 5 - 4+ people can make a guild together, and share the money or just make it yourself and wait for others to enter; 6 - the guild can have every kind of propose that fits on the server (Pirate, Research, Designers, etc...); 7 - make it public. (optional)
If you people/players/mods/admin want to leave a suggestion for this, you can reply Oh and I'm waiting for a reply from Vycor too. Thanks -John2y

I really don't like factions, and this sounds like what your talking about. It is for pvp servers and it just aggrivates me :/ sorry

I like the idea of it, but it isn't practical for non-PVP servers. Maybe it could be like Cooking guilds and stuff where u can learn about how to do everything in that area of crafting? Cause while i used to love going on servers with factions and guilds, it caused too many fueds between people. Sorry if i am disapointing you.

you are not understanding, or I'm not being too clear I'm talking about guild, just to do RP'S/Trade/Talk/Make friends/teach or learn stuff with them. And, Factions and Guilds are different, In this case, and it's not only used for PVP, It's used in PVE/Economy were is the best option if you want to make money to do some project or keep something you have to pay for in the game

I don't see any problem with this, except for maybe downloading the correct plugins. The result will be to simply recognize the groups that already exist.

Let me reply to dalek's post.
I used to play exclusively on faction servers, so I know the plugin pretty well
First, Vycor's server has some element of pvp, enabled in the nether meaning that Vycor probably has some opinions on allowing people to kill others, probably favoring at least some element of pvp.
Factions doesn't necessarily contradict with the non-pvp element of the server.
John2y's 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th point are consistant with factions.
The breakdown of factions is essentially a territory war, you claim your own land, and the more you die the less land you can claim. Claimed land protects chests, doors, furances and makes it so that other people not in your faction can't modify the land.
The admin can easily make "safe zones" where there is no block modification, and no pvp.
The admin can also make 'war zones" where pvp is allowed but there are no block modifications.
The reason why factions doesn't contradict with the non-pvp element is because land claiming is based on a unit called "power" which can be adjusted. Each power unit can be used to claim 1 piece of land, and the amount of power loss on death is adjustable, making the power loss 0 would discourage killing. In addition, factions doesn't mean that people NEED to pvp, pvp can still be disabled in the overworld.
Factions allows for grief control as well, because claimed land can't be modified by non faction members, if people have something they want to protect, they can just claim it and other people won't be able to modify it.
Factions also allows for better teamwork, people can coordinate their bases and chests without the fear of griefing, because their base is safe from outside members.
The amount of power that each person has is adjustable. Every time a person joins a faction, that faction's power increases allowing it to claim more land.
I'll answer any other concerns you might have.

I just got very bitter to faction anything when I made a faction/base and then someone makes me op them, then they leave the faction join an enemy, and kill me and raid all my stuff.

I don't like the idea of losing/winning land, or even PVP-Wars, but about that respect, is Vycor who have to make the final decision. I keep with the same things I typed in the first place, but I don't mind changes because Vycor has to agree with the things xD Btw, I didn't vote, I want only the votes of players and I'm the one giving the idea, I don't mind of being accepted or negated.

Dalek chest potections are still available, there you can still use lockett,e and the factions mod allows for selective chest opening.
John- you can always have 0 power loss, therefore there is no stealing land.

I disagree. One of the reasons i hated panada for a while was because an admin owned it. Therefore he could have as much money as he wanted to buy other towns.

McMMO isn't exactly a bad plugin - it allows for faster pvp, and better mining.

Now that I think about it, guild mightn't be that bad. But just I am worried that people will start fighting about guilds and stuff, encouraging griefing. But if there was a way to prevent it, I'm open to persuasion.

We don't need McMMO for that, it's just optional, and no need for plugins at all just for that And don't need pvp wars, we can do technological/Building wars... that would encourage people to make new types or better buildings. No need for encouraging griefing, that's for people that don't get that Minecraft it's just a game, you don't die because of that. And no need to follow my rules at a straight line, you can change things, My only objective its to make Guilds/Alliances/Factions/etc.. a little more visible to the server and the players, just like the Towns or Cities on the server, did you need plugins for that? I think the /warp plugins is just the only one and wasn't put just for that.
