/sell itemname sells the current item in your hand, we could incorporate something similar using /buy itemname. BuyCraft uses /buy currently though, so we could make it /b itemname or /purchase itemname instead. Just an idea.

I think this is a fantastic idea, having to warp to the store every time and look for your item is a pain and having a feature like this would make life so much easier. I don't think /buy itemname would work because you would have to spell the item name perfectly right every time and it would be too difficult. I think it should be /buy itemID and then if you want to buy more than one you could do /buy itemID amount.

I agree, this is a great idea! As SCV said, instead of typing /warp store, we could type /buy 1 64 and get 64 stone. There are a few flaws with the idea. There would have to be a way to block certain Item ID's/Blocks, such as bedrock, fire block, etc... Another thing is that somebody would have to price all the blocks and items. With alot of time, this could be an amazing addition to the server!

I like it but then what is the server going to do with the area that is the shop? Keep it there?

I like it but then what is the server going to do with the area that is the shop? Keep it there? They could, or they can do what they did with the oldspawn shop, just blocked it off and had a sign saying how to get to the new store. I think that problem is the least of our worries. (A bit off topic, but govols, what linux distro do you use?)

Maybe they could turn the shop into something really cool.

I think this would be potentially a better option. dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/trademarket/The idea being that people set their own prices, and the supply/demand is what determines those. I have tested it a bit on my server (still MC 1.5.2 unfortunately) and when you try to sell an item, it removes said item from your inventory. Also rather than selling in a group, I believe they sell individually. In other words, you can put 128 stone up for sale, and someone can buy 50 from you. My server is still in the initial setup stages, and has a population of me, so I haven't been able to do any full functionality tests.

Tbh, i like that plugin but, i like this one more. dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/grandexchangeplugin/Basically, its like that but you have to buy the items in amounts. You can also link the offers you made to slabs to display them. This is 1.6.2 and supports enchantments, potions, books, ETC. There still would be /sell but i think it would override the /sell with essentials. Also you can view offers out there and see what you like better.

Also, i think the prices for items on /sell should be lowered a lot. like 1k for a slime ball? there easy to get now b/c of swamps. So that might help the economy by making everything sell cheap but buy high you know?

I like being able to buy however many you need, so long as there are at least that many for sale already. That way nobody is forced to buy a stack of 64 if they only need 4 blocks, or things like that. I do like the slab shop addition though, if items for sale in the shop can also be purchased via command. It does seem that GrandExchange has been kept better up-to-date, and is also a fully developed plugin rather than a beta one. I think that using a plugin like this would not eliminate the /sell hand bit, but would greatly reduce the use of it, as well as reduce the need for superstores, and would even help balance out the economy. Particularly if the sell value of items was dropped.. but changing the value for every item is quite the project.
